Underground Coal Mines Emergency Response and Rescue
The Underground Coal Mine Emergency Response and Rescue course provides the skills and knowledge required by underground coal mines rescue team members who are called out to respond to a wide range of mine emergency incidents, including search and rescue operations, firefighting, flooding, ventilation failure and mine recovery after a fire or explosion.
Candidates that wish to apply for enrolment in the course must be underground coal mine workers sponsored by a Queensland coal mine organisation.
Initial course duration is three weeks, delivered at the QMRS training facilities in Dysart and Blackwater. Active mines rescue team members must attend bi-monthly one-day skills maintenance courses delivered at the QMRS facilities or at the mine sites.
This is a non-accredited program, which has been developed in consultation with industry.
