| The QMRS emergency number activates the queensland mines rescue service 24/7, 365 days of the year. |

| QMRS is in partnership with the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service control room, which accepts the emergency call and activates QMRS |

| The first contact with QMRS will initiate a response of two operational managers for anywhere in Queensland. The remaining staff are alerted by SMS to their mobile phones, and within an average of four minutes all QMRS staff are alerted and all emergency response systems initiated. |

| Testing of the system is through a scheduled test activated by the control rooms at the mine sites and indicates a consistent response time of less than four minutes. |
| |
| The system, designed to minimise delays, has been a successful partner ship between mines rescue and the QFRS. |
